This weekend was pretty productive, as lately we havent been able to get much done with a newborn around the house! On Friday a snow storm set in, I was very excited to see that we were going to get a lot of snow as I was really hoping for a white Christmas! My godparents, Aunt Patti and Uncle John, came to visit Riley on Friday, on their way to Albany. Of course Aunt Patti came bearing gifts for the "Great God-child". She has a few new outfits and a handmade purple sweater set. They visited for awhile before heading out to stay ahead of the snow storm. Longie was very sad when Uncle John left, as she got a lot of needed attention from him.
Saturday, we woke up to quite a bit of snow. Kennie went out to clean the sidewalks and plow the driveway, I finally got started on decorating the tree. Yes, the weekend before xmas and the tree isnt even decorated. But what are ya gonna do!? Once Kennie was done, he came in and helped, and we woke up Riley to put the star on! We had our family christmas picture appt at JC Penny at 3 :10 pm, so we spent the rest of the afternoon getting ready for that. I was anticipating the mall being a mad house along with the picture studio, but aside from the traffic, there was no one else getting their pictures taken. Which worked out well, because we had to stop for a few minutes to feed Riley as she was getting cranky! She is much happier on a full stomach, so we filled her up, and actually got some cute pics, once we get them back I will be sure to post!
We pulled in the driveway at home to find my parents and Mike and Deb Anguish(an old friend and boss of Kennies). My parents were playing early santa with a new chest freezer for us! The timing was perfect, Mike helped my Dad and Kennie put it in the basement! Now I cant wait to start filling it will good deals on frozen foods, and hopefully make my own baby food and freeze it, and not have to worry about freezer space anymore! Plus, I think my parents want me to stop putting my turkey in their freezer...Thanks Mom and Dad!! Mike and Deb visited for a bit, brought us homemade christmas cookie, a goodie basket and a new handmaid quilt for Riley. I'm so glad Deb got to met her before she was walking!
Sunday was another busy day! A morning of picking up the house, Riley finally has decided that she likes her swing. So I am able to put her in it and she just watches everything going on, so I am able to get a few things done without holding her. She has been very needy lately and wants to be held all the time. I do have a front carrier for her, but she seems uncomfortable in it, so I ordered a sling from Babies R Us to see if that works. Mike, Stacy and Christopher were going to stop by for a visit, which was very fun! Christopher is 17 pounds! Its crazy to think back in July is was just born and only weighed 7 pounds! Stacy and Mike couldnt believe how small Riley was, in comparison to Christopher. It was so nice to visit and compare new parent notes with Stacy, and get the babies together! Stacy brought a beautiful vase with flowers for us also! We spent the rest of the afternoon lounging around the house, and enjoyed a "breakfast dinner" of pancakes and sausage before calling it a night....and I'm pretty sure more snow was falling when I went to bed!!
Another busy week, with all the Christmas festivities, I hope everyone is enjoying and ready for the the busy holiday week!
