Baby Registry...Up and Running

Today was the big Babies R Us registry day. A few months back Kennie and I spent a Saturday afternoon at BRU picking everything out. The big stuff anyway. We decided what we liked and he tried out different strollers and such. Today, Carrie (my co-worker and also best friend) went after work to do all the little stuff. We were there for about and hour and a 1/2 and got a lot done. It was very fun, but I was also very tired. I still have some tweaking to do, but the majority is out of the way, and there is no way I couldn't have done with without Carrie's help and Shannon's recommendations. There are just way too many choices out there for a first time mom to choose from...And of course, Carrie wouldn't leave without buying something for a baby present. She is such a great friend. I think she had a much fun as I did.

We are glad to be back home after a crazy weekend! The pig roast was fun, but there was a terrible storm on Saturday night. Needless to say with 1 dog scared to death of thunder and lighting, and staying in a tent didn't work out well. We ended up in my truck for a few hours and then back in the tent. We didn't get much sleep, even the dogs were exhausted, but all in all it was a great weekend to spend time with great friends...

Not the greatest picture...but this is Longie and I relaxing last night after we got home...We are trying to show her there is a baby in the belly, but I don't think she understands yet...

On the road again...

This weekend is the annual pig roast at Chad and Rachel's. And I am soo excited about all the good food that will be there for me to eat!!! (Yes, I am eating for 2) So we are leaving tonight for the weekend. It totally weird, but I'm ready to go and seem to have this calming feeling, and not rushed. Usually I am running around trying to get ready, but I'm starting to realize that the house doesn't have to be in order and things can go undone before we leave. We are taking the dogs along with this this trip, so it should be interesting to see how they react to the hunting dogs that have to stay outside all the time. A few our of wheeling friends, Paula and Glenn and Chad and Ashley are also going for the weekend, so I'm sure I will have a few stories when I return. This is going to be a tough weekend being pregnant, because there is an awesome party after the pig roast in a barn with a great band...last year it was a blast, but at least I know I will be feeling great on Sunday morning, unlike last years events. I am also off to Target today to get a body pillow to hopefully help with my tossing and turning at night....I hope everyone enjoys the wonderful weekend!

23 Weeks....and 1 Pound!

We have hit the 23 week mark...The baby weighs approx. 1 pound right now...For some reason after all my years of working in the deli, I am comparing that to a pound of lunch meat. Not much else new here...Just thought I would share a new picture, yes, its getting hard to look down and see my toes. I dont think I'm getting that big, but when I see a picture, it a totally different view seeing yourself in a picture. Sleeping is getting uncomfortable, so I think I will invest in some sort of body pillow or boppy support. I hate tossing and turning because I feel Im interrupting Kennie's sleep. When in all reality he has no idea that I'm even moving around, and is more concerned about my sleep then his own! On a side note, the dogs love the window AC. Longie waits outside the door every night and then runs in and flops down in front of the window. Many nights I wake up and she is sound asleep on her back, soaking up the cool air! I really need to get a picture of that!

They have no idea whats on its way!

Monday Moans...

NOT GETTING MY Zzzzz's!!! Every Sunday night I dread knowing that I am going to have to awake on Monday and get to work. This Sunday was no different. Kennie and I watched The Bucket List movie and headed to bed around 10...I was back up within the hour as my heartburn was bothering me. I went out on the couch to sit up straight and channel surf. Every time I looked at the clock it got later and later. Needless to say at 3 am I was surfing the Internet, and finally at 4:30 I feel asleep. So I am running on 2 1/2 hours sleep and not happy that I'm starting the week out this way! I'm not sure if maybe the tums has something in them that was keeping my awake, but even the 3 times I turned off the TV and just closed my eyes, I laid there wide awake. The longer it goes on the more frustrating it gets! I'm going to try to make it through work today....and of course tonight is grocery night, but we will see what happens! I hope everyone else's Mondays are starting off better then mine!

TGIF...

Those are letters I have been dying to see all week! Its just seems like it took forever for Friday to gt here this week! Its been busy at work, but I just have not been 100 % focused on everything going on! Last night I hosted my first Lia Sophia party! It was a huge success. My Aunt Kim started selling it a few months ago, and I couldn't believe how much free product I got and the good deals. I get to pick out $265 in free jewelry and then get another 4 pieces for $20 dollars each. For example, this awesome necklace I wanted was $100, now I get that for $20...Its going to be very hard to decide what I want...but I do have a few things in mind! It was great to see everyone that came to the party, and of course Keara (Carrie my best Buddie and co-worker) daughter was the hit of the evening. Kennie really enjoyed spending time with her!

This weekend should be pretty productive! I'm going to get the paint for the baby's room and I would like to get started and put a dent in it. Kennie and I made a deal...I would paint the bottom of the walls if he paints up top...I'm sure my 1/2 will be finished way before his. I really just want to get the project completed so I can enjoy the rest of the summer, as the next few weekends are booked and August is going to be VERY busy!

I have noticed with the hot weather that I am unable to be on my feet too much. My legs and ankles become pretty swollen and uncomfortable. I wanted to hit up the Syracuse Nationals car show this weekend, but I'm afraid that I will do more damage then its worth. The other thing is my heartburn has gotten a little worse. I'm unable to make it through the day without my tums! The tums does take care of it, but it just annoying when it starts! Other then that I have been feeling great! I will post a new belly picture this weekend!

Hopefully everyone is as excited about Friday as I am. We are defiantly in the dog days of summer with this hear wave....I am also planning on a lot of time floating around in the pool! Enjoy the weekend and stay cool!

A recap of the family visit and the 4th...

I promised a post recapping the last few weeks while Kennie's Dad, step Mom Lisa and brother Harry were here from Florida so here it is!

They arrived Monday the 30th...we pretty much spent every night with them until they left this Friday the 11th. They drove up with their new toy hauler, and brought the 4-wheelers, Dads chopper and Bob the dog...they camped down the road at Sylvan Beach, which was very nice having them sooo close. I took Thursday off to prepare for our weekend camping. We set up camp a few sites over from them and the weekend began! The girls (Longie & Snackie) havent been camping in forever, so the first night was very hard for them to settle down and get to sleep. Friday the 4th...Kennies sister Elisa and brother in law Chris came with the boat. Kennie spent the morning picking up a truck he bought for parts and was stung by a bee in the middle of his eyes...he was very swollen and this wasnt even the worst...it had gone down alot after he took benedryl.

The rest of the weekend was spent on the boat, hanging at the camper and campsite and around the campfire. Of course our adopted brother, Billy also spent the weekend with us! It was a pretty relaxing and laid back weekend, except the little dog scuffle that took place. Longie Sniffed Bob's bone and I think Bob just snapped his mouth to warn her and ended up getting her ear. It didnt look that bad but we ended up taking her to the vet this week...antibiotics and a new diet, as she is 117 pounds, and should be around 100, and hopefully she will survive, but if you know Longie, it was quiet dramatic that her ear is now shaved and scarred!

Sunday a bunch of the Rutherford family members came by for a small family reunion. It turned out to be a great day and we couldnt have asked for a better holiday weekend! It was finally home Sunday night to get everything unpacked and back to work on Monday.

The rest of the visit was filled with fun~We spent sometime with Harry at Sylvan Beach playing in all the arcades and having ice cream! They also spent a few evenings at the house riding four wheelers. Kennie taught his brother how to pop a wheelie, and Lisa and Harry spent hours just jumping the bank in the back of the house and getting air! Thursday night, we took a little ride before it was time to load up the toys for them to head back! All in all, it was a busy few weeks, but it was so great to spend time with the family that we never get to see. We were all very sad to part ways, and cant wait to see each other for Christmas when the baby is here!

20 Week Ultrasound Pic...Its a...!!

We had out 20 week ultrasound yesterday! Although it was very hard to not find out what the baby is....we stuck to our guns and didn't find out...Yes, its still a surprise everyone!!

Everything is looking great! This was a very long appointment, as they take all kinds of measurements and look at organs and different functions. Its amazing to see how much the baby moves around and seems to have its own personality already. We got a ton of pictures, even some 3d ones, which are cool to me, but most people are a little freaked out when they see them. The baby is approximately 14 oz's right now! We met with the doctor after the ultrasound, he too said everything looks great and keep up the good work! I have gained another 6 pounds, for a grand total of 8...and so far, it must be all in my belly because my pants are fitting good in the rear end, just tight in the front...

As far as this past holiday weekend...I will get the pictures uploaded this week and share our story of the 2 week family visit! Its been great, and we are sooo sad its coming to an end already! We hope everyone had a safe and memorable 4th of July 2008 as well!

1/2 way....20 Week Update...

I am still in shock...we are at the 1/2 way point! Our 20 weeks was yesterday, and its still surreal that its only going to be 20 more weeks and the baby will be here! I'm still feeling great and enjoying being pregnant! I am starting to feel movement here and there, especially at night when I lay down to go to sleep. I cant wait for Kennie to be able to feel them move around! We have our big ultra sound on Monday....and yes we are still going to NOT find out what the baby is...sorry everyone its a surprise!I am feeling great and ahead of schedule. Last week, Kennie and I put the crib together and arranged the baby's room. Hopefully in the coming weekends we will start the paint and decorating of the room. I love walking into the room and seeing the crib, and I cant wait until my final plan for the room comes together!

Last weekend Mike and Stacy came over and brought me 2 huge bags of maternity clothes! I really have been blessed in the hand me down department. A few weeks ago Shannon brought me her maternity clothes, which included a ton of awesome shirts. The batch that Stacy brought included a ton of pants for the cooler months! I should be all set and I am thrilled that I wont have to buy alot...because my pants are really starting to get tight...I do think a few more Capri pants to last the summer months are on the docket though!

These next weeks are going to be very busy. Kennies family is here from Florida. Dad, Lisa, Harry and Bob the dog arrived on Monday and its going to be a huge family 4th of July weekend at the campsite in Sylvan beach. Elisa and Chris are coming tomorrow with the boat and then there is a family picnic on Sunday. We are setting up camp tonight and very excited because we are bringing the dogs along for the adventure. Its such a great experience to spend this much time with the family that we don't get to see alot...I will include a recap and photos from the weekend next week!

On a side note..I chopped my hair last week...its the shortest its been in forever and I'm really enjoying the no maintenance!

Everyone please enjoy your holiday weekend...be safe and remember what the 4th of July is all about and all the people who fight for our Independence!
